Upon leaving Canada, we decided to drive home via Olympic National Park.
We are so grateful we made this last minute decision.
Olympic was a treat.
The trifecta of abundant wildlife, spectacular views and no crowds.
Not to mention a great JR Ranger program...bonus.
In our typical whirlwind way, we hit the highlights.
Hurricane Ridge, rainforest and the coast.
I predict a longer stay on the Olympic Pennisula next time we head north.
Maybe a stay at Lake Quinault Lodge and a visit to Rialto Beach.
Sunset at the beach before the long drive to our hotel in Olympia.
We only wish we had more time to explore.
The 10:30 ferry crossing cut into our day, but sunset was around 8:30.
And the tide was out.
We are National Park Junkies.
A day at Olympic, which was not enough time, inspired us to spend the following day at Mt Rainer National Park.
A small detour on our way home.
