At the end of the day, when all is said and done.
When the parenting has been long and hard, and conflicts high.
When the lights are dimmed and good nights are said...
there is nothing like walking into your beloved child's room
to kiss them good night and say a quick prayer over them,
to find them fast sleep with their bible propped up on the pillow.
A flashback to babyhood, when mama exhaustion sets in and
all you can think about is getting your baby to fall asleep.
And when they finally fall asleep, you are mesmerized...
all you can do is sit there and stare at them sleeping.
kinda like that, but with more noise, less exhaustion
and a truly grateful heart.
