crackers
one of the joys of home schooling is the ability to take time to bake things one might not normally take the time to bake.
and to take the time to bake with the littles.
and to take the time to bake with the littles.
case and point.
this week we decided to make cheddar animal crackers...you know like those goldfish crackers.
a 2 day process of making and chilling the dough.
our takeoff recipe is from homecooking.
i adjusted the recipe slightly by using half whole wheat flour/white flour.
also i added a bit more salt and a generous portion of freshly ground pepper.
it seems i must ALWAYS adjust the recipe.

Naptime Diaries writes about choosing "the good portion" and my heart is moved, pausing, contemplating. I wonder, can I be satisfied with choosing "the good portion"?
Leafcutter has the most adorable wooden tokens...look what Ashley at under the sycamore tree did with them. So clever.
Julia sent me this article "Pink is not the Enemy". Go read it.
My pal Brooke had a guest post...as usual I am inspired by her and her commitment to have her boys witness God's word alive and well in her life.
Have you seen the Aled Lewis art prints...too funny!
What goodies have caught your eye lately?

letter #34
Dearest Beloved, Be courageous. I've got your back.
Dear Forty-sixth at Grace, Cloud ice cream sandwiches...are you serious? Gorgeous.
Dear Wedding Dress, You served me well on that celebratory day 11 years ago. For years I have been wondering what to do with your lace goodness. Today I found the perfect place for you...Narobi...empowering a woman to grow her business. I bid thee farewell.
Dear Autumn Rain, I bid thee welcome. Turn those golden hills green. Go on now.
Dearest Beloved, Thank you for being the soccer parent!
as you wish

potato
if you can only manage to grow enough potatoes for a side dish for your family does that make you a good gardener?
this is my second and final "potato dig" this season.
i am afraid i am a dismal failure at potato farming.
although a potato is a potato right?
so if potatoes grow in my garden and if i eat those potatoes then i am a potato farmer, right?
maybe a potato provider.
a title i hold loosely.
next year perhaps.
