homeschool diaries.

Sometimes learning happens outside the classroom (or kitchen).
Sometimes it happens during typical school day hours.
Sometimes it happens down back at the crick.

Sometimes science looks like a fawn carcass and a raccoon skull.
Sometimes science is discovered with cousins.
Sometimes waist deep creek water is involved.

Sometimes school is fun and unexpected.
Sometimes science is followed up by PE on a trampoline.

Sometimes home-school is an adventure.
Wait, it is a daily adventure just most days don't involve a creek, dirty shoes, skulls and cousins.

just in case you need to know how to clean animal bones.
yep, we have a bucket of bones on our stoop...stop by and we will show you.

thanks to dee for another great day

dinner-ish

The other day I cooked.
Really cooked.
Made all sorts of yumminess...preparing food for the week.
This hasn't happened for months...when the kiddos were away I think I might have cooked twice and then we spent 10 days camping in which I cooked everyday but more for the purpose of feeding the fam not for the love of cooking.
I love cooking.
Providing for others.
Loving with food.
On this Saturday past I prepared, with love, a delightful meal...as pictured above.
Naan (made in a cast iron fry pan!!), coconut rice, dahl, chicken satay and peanut sauce.
I am so grateful to have a family who eat and enjoy my cookin'!
truly.

letter #31 on week #36

Dearest Beloved, Thank you for all the juggling you do for our family. We are grateful.
Dear Sisters, Dreamin' of river boats, cafe au laits, and the such.
Dear Heavenly Father, You care about the sparrow, the hairs on my head and what awaits tomorrow...why can't I ever remember this truth?
Dear Tomato Season, Oh, how I adore thee!
Dearest Beloved, This month marks 11 years. Can you believe it? 11 years! Where did the time go?
as you wish.
xo
yours

the return of the craft

we are witnessing the return of crafting.
being home together everyday brings out the desire to craft.
buntings, shrinky dinks, painting and earlier this week freezer stencil tees.

we even got the off-to-college cousin/nephew to craft along.

I really do feel better if I can do something creative everyday...just like the motto of my former job.
