During the Superbowl some of us got crafty.

Actually the whole weekend had touches of craftiness.
freezer paper stenciled birthday gifts and glitter galore.

Truly glitter galore...all over the house.

loving one's life

2011 is the year of falling in love with my life.
Some days that is an enormous task.

So, today I am creating my own love and giving it others so they can love their lives today.

Or at least they will love homemade cupcakes for no particular reason at all.
This is my version of when life gives you lemons...
make lemon cupcakes...
for others.

I blather on and on about food, eating organically and locally and all that jazz.
You might have noticed I have been silent in this department of late.
I am not a slacker but an uninspired chef/cook/homemaker.
Meals have been tuna melts (not local); tomato soup (not homemade); frozen mac & cheese (as per Delia's request); Vietanmese takeout (local as in 2 blocks away but not local food); El Salvadoran takeout (ditto).
Some weeks I have it together and some weeks I don't.
Case in point...nearly empty fridge.
See that lonely apple. Notice the soup from a friend. That is a big stash of bacon though.
Cooking has been a bit of a challenge lately.
I recently discovered I have a gluten sensitivity.
Change is good, and so is good health.
I will get my groove back...I promise!

Dearest Beloved, Remember back to when we were new parents? How tiring and wonderful it was? What is happening to our babies? Please stop them from growing up. Dear February, I am grateful you are a short month...thank you for providing a week off so we can road trip. Dear Stephanie, Thank you for loving me enough to send me a book in the mail. Maybe my boat won't seem to small after all.
Dear Ginger Chews, I adore your spicy after bite.
