reading nook

Delia has a sweet little reading nook in her room.
Cozy floor cushions, softies, a couple of notebooks to jot down ideas, stacks of books, good natural light, and music options.
A place to call her own.

The other day when Delia was at school, I painted and hung a few letters to create a sweet little "read" reminder.
(Inspired by this room.)
Although no reminder needed for this girl.
I also added a fun 2011 calendar, free from a local store.
Self portrait by Delia age 4, glittery "C" painted by the artist herself age 6.

Current books in the stack:

Alice in Wonderland
A Child's Introduction to the Environment
McMilliam Student Dictionary
Almost Everything
Various A-Z mysteries
Various Amelia books
Diary of a Wimpy Kid

  1. Wow! Wish I had one of these growing up. Just think, you are passing on such an amazing gift, that of reading. Delia will remember she had a Mamma that showed her the world ....through books!
