for the love of family

They say you can pick your friends not your family!

Boys will be boys.

Bow tie Sunday.
A grandpop and his boys.

My SIL, Jackie and cousin (by marriage) Karen and yours truly.
Family and friends...friends for 22 years...family for nearly 10 years.
Wow, we are getting old.  Middle aged at least.

...
May your weekend be filled with family...and friends.

the purge

We are downsizing.
Yep...the old collection of cassette tapes.
Recycled.
I have been nagging John for years to purge the cassettes,
to no avail, until I suggested he photograph his favorites.
Which he is doing...while checking out the old tunes on Youtube.
Gotta love Youtube for classic 80's videos.
To all of you that ever made me a tape...I am afraid I've let it go.
Next on the list...VHS.
That may take some nagging.

veggie love

Today I hit the local farmer's market.

Gotta love buying local,
eating local and shopping local.

Gotta love the fruits of California.
Let me tell you they taste as good as they look.
The cherries are sweet and juicy.
The apricots are first round crop and delish to eat out of hand.
Summer squash and bok choy are on the menu tonight.

As they say, life is  bowl full of cherries.
...
Have I ever mentioned that I want a market garden?
I do.
I have tomatoes, swiss chard, carrots, lettuce, cucumber and squash growing right now but it is a measly plot.
Mostly the veggies are planted in between flowers or in containers.
I guess I will bloom where I am planted!

goodies

Also know as impulse buys.
A few little goodies.

-Pink Moleskins (for my travel journal).
-Fancy Japanese masking tape and a letter stamp from Nothing Elegant's Etsy.

Have you seen these colouring books?
The illustrations are so charming.
This is not for the kids but for me...if I dare mar the pages.
