Sometimes Facebook drives me crazy.
I rarely use it but every once in awhile I pop in to check on my siblings and a group project I am working on.
Here is an interesting article from NY Times.

couch love

Help!
My couch needs a slip cover.
Ack!
Denise is coming to my rescue...next week I hope.
She is an amazing seamstress and has a big ol' cutting mat.
I broke the spending hiatus...again...
and purchased 14 yards of cotton twill (see back fabric ) in a light grayish bluish color.
Of course, I picked up a more yardage for throw pillows.
I think fabric is my crack.
I can not get enough of great fabric.
I have a huge stash.
I need to start sewing.
Tomorrow, I swear!
...
Don't forget the big giveaway.
Winner-winner-chicken-dinner to be announced tomorrow.

social weekend
How was your weekend?
Mine was jam packed with social activity.
Dinner out, coffee & dessert dates, lunch in the city, birthday party and so on.
I am a lucky gal.
Oh, I was blessed with several handmade gifts.
Truly a surprise.
A handbag from Red Freckle...my first animal print!

A handmade stained glass from Uncle Ron.
A bird no less.

Dee made me a great pair of fingerless gloves (not pictured)...so my hands stay warm at the hardware store on stock day...what a nice boss!
...
Thank you R & K for the mini party...I feel honored and loved.
...
Don't forget about the giveaway!

sometimes
Sometimes, when I am having a pity party and feeling unloved I read something that speaks to me. Or I hear the lyrics of a song.
Sometimes, a friend will be sharing with me the grief of their heart and I have a thought cross my mind and the exact right moment. The perfect quote, story or verse for that sacred moment.
Sometimes, like today, when I am feeling left out, let down and failed upon, my husband leaves a blog post up for me to read. The perfect post for my heart to hear.
I believe those moments are the signs in which God speaks to me. He uses signs because I am far to stubborn to sit and hear His still voice.
The post is from Stuff Christians Like. It speaks to the nakedness we feel in our lowest moments and reminds us that in Christ we are not.
kids say the funniest things

Another funny kid moment:
Delia was chatting with me about my birthday next week:
Delia: "Do you want a working dog for your birthday?"
me: "mm, ahem, mmm, okay." (code for I am driving whatever you say dear!)
Delia: "If you had a working dog, you don't have to do so much work and then you can play more games with people."
me: "hmm, okay."
Delia: " Do you like that idea, Mom? You like to play games."
In my head I was wondering if the dishes fairies would be stopping by later to clean the kitchen. Are there dust bunny fairies? Do working dogs dust, mop floors and weed gardens?
